STRATIFIED SAMPLING

By MIKE | Sep 17, 2016 07:36PM CEST

hi,

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME UNDERSTAND HOW THE STRATIFIED SAMPLING 3 ACTUALLY WORKS WITH THE DATA? WHEN SHOULD I USE IT VS. STRATIFIED SAMPLING 2 OPTION?
THANK YOU!

Dear Mike,

Stratified sampling 3 means that rows are chosen at random within N strata defined by the user.
In each stratum, the number of sampled observations is proportional to a relative frequency supplied by the user.

Stratified sampling 2 is the same except the relative frequency is fixed by the relative frequency of the stratum of your sheet ( it take into account the proportions of each strata) .

Regards,
