Preparing the data

By Andrea Czarncki | Oct 27, 2016 07:40PM CEST

Preparing the data to conduct the parametric t-test on many different water quality parameters at once. I have 2 periods of record 1) 2015 and 2) 1972-2014 and results for each day of sampling for 50 different water quality parameters. How do I prepare the data so that excel will conduct the test on all the parameters at once rather than by parameter by parameter? It is too time consuming!! Thanks, Andrea.

Hello Andrea,

Hope you are well ;)
Easy: you should have one column containing your sample identifiers. It should two possible labels: 2015 and 1974-14. Then you just need to fill the information relative to the 50 parameters in 50 other columns. In the 2-sample t-test dialog box, make sure you select the “one column per variable” data format. Put the sample identifiers column in the sample identifiers field. The other 50 columns should be entered in the Data field. This should do the trick.
