Bradley-terry model

By Lakshmanan Ramamoorthi | Nov 17, 2016 08:50PM CET

I wanted to test if Bradley-terry model be used to analyze continuous data. If you have two types of foods (A and B), both might be preferred by consumers and both might be eaten at certain levels (grams of consumption). BT model used for sports for win and loss but wondering if BT model used to compare the paired comparison of foods A and B with their actual consumption data (and not which one is preferred)

Hello,

The Bradley Terry model can be seen as a logistic model of variance analysis (model binomial) so it is not suitable it to analyze continuous data.
For your particular example, it is better to chooser a one-way ANOVA model (considering the type of food as a fixed effect factor) depending on the type of your survey.

Hope this helps.

Regards
