Hello,I would like to know how to correctly interpret the mean impact display in the CATA analysis. In the tutorial, the descriptions are mainly on designs with an ideal product. If I do not have an idal product in the analysis (but I do enter an overall liking scale), what does the mean drop indicate? Thank you very much for your help!Andrea Handl
In the case where there is no ideal product, this analysis is substituted by an analysis of presence and absence of the attributes.
This means that for a specific attribute, XLSTAT compares the products for which the attribute is absent (=0) vs the products for which the attribute is present (=1).
If you run the tutorial’s example without the Ideal product, then the attribute Firm implies an increase of 1,318 liking points between the products which were characterized as firm and the products that they were not. Moreover, the p-value is lower than 5% which indicates that this attribute has a significant impact on the liking scores.
